After pummeling the Clemson Tigers in the Sugar Bowl, the Ohio State Buckeyes travel from New Orleans to Miami Gardens test their might against the Alabama Crimson Tide who are favored to win the National Championship by at least 8 points.
That spread might seem a little high considering Ohio State’s most recent performance, but the top USA sportsbook sites do not feel that lightning will strike twice for the Buckeyes.
Alabama was unable to deliver on the massive 20 point spread that they were granted against the Notre Dame Fighting Irish on January 1, winning 31-14 in the Rose Bowl.
The college football betting odds are more reasonably achievable for Alabama tonight, but Ohio State’s offensive output against Clemson proves that they can perform in a big game against a favorite.
Is 9 points an inflated point spread? We’ll find out tonight at 8:00 PM on ESPN.
Ohio State Buckeyes (3) vs. Alabama Crimson Tide (1)
- Spread – Alabama -9.0, Ohio State +9.0
- Money Line – Alabama -270, Ohio State +320
- O/U – 74.0
If the Crimson Tide win tonight’s College Football National Championship Game, it will be the 18th National Title they’ve won as a program, and will be the 6th title that has been hoisted by head coach Nick Saban during his tenure with Alabama.
Saban also won a NCAAF National Championship with the LSU Tigers in 2003, so a victory tonight would be his 7th title overall.
Ohio State is no slouch, either. A win tonight by the Buckeyes would secure their 9th College Football Championship, and the first for second-year head coach Ryan Day.
It’s prime season for football betting right now, but tonight’s CFP Championship Game represents the last opportunity to wager on NCAAF before the 2021-22 season begins in August.
The Crimson Tide has been featured as the top option in college football futures betting lines for the entire season, so their appearance in the title game is no surprise.
Clemson was expected to move beyond Ohio State and set up a matchup of the two top programs in college football over the past several years. Ohio State had other plans and defeated Clemson by a score of 49-28 behind a Herculean 6 TD effort by Buckeyes QB Justin Fields.
Alabama was able to win the Rose Bowl against Notre Dame, but they were unable to cover the 20-point spread that oddsmakers had placed on the game.
2021 Heisman Trophy winner Devonta Smith hauled in 7 catches for 130 yards and 3 touchdowns to put the Fighting Irish away, and Buckeye defensive coaches will have their hands full trying to match up with him this evening.
History and legacy are at stake for both universities, coaches, and rosters, so capitalize on the opportunity yourself by cashing in on the last college football betting line of the 2020-21 season.
