This Saturday at 3:30 PM, Jacksonville’s TIAA Bank Field will host the University of Florida Gators and the Georgia Bulldogs in a game that has become affectionately known as “the world’s largest outdoor cocktail party.”
The game was given that moniker decades ago when a fan offered an alcoholic beverage to an on-duty police officer. While the nickname is not as widely used in recent years, the game still features loads of fans from both schools hosting epic tailgate gatherings in the parking lot leading up kickoff.
The Bulldogs are undefeated and ranked #1 in the AP Top 25. The Gators enter the game with a record of 4-3 and would like nothing more than to spoil the National Championship hopes of the Bulldogs.
College football sportsbook sites have weighed in with betting lines for this Saturday’s contest, and the forecast is a blowout.
Florida Gators vs. Georgia Bulldogs
- UF Point Spread: +22.5
- UF Moneyline: +1050
- UGA Point Spread: -22.5
- UGA Moneyline: -2500
- Over/Under: 56.5
The point spread of over three touchdowns perhaps has more to do with the Gators’ defense than the Bulldogs’ offense. Last weekend, the Gators gave up 528 yards and 45 points in their loss to the LSU Tigers.
Florida was actually favored to beat the Tigers by a spread of -2.5, but LSU covered, winning the game by 10 points.
Georgia is 4-3 against the spread in 2022-2023 and is no stranger to covering massive differentials. UGA last played on October 15th against Vanderbilt, where they covered a 37.5-point spread, winning the game by a final score of 55-0.
The Gators are 3-4 against the spread this season, which doesn’t grant gamblers much confidence in their ability to cover despite the massive chasm that separates them from Georgia in the betting line.
We’re focusing on the spread because that’s where the betting intrigue lies. Placing a wager on the Gators to outright win the game would prove incredibly profitable if they are somehow victorious, but that outcome is unlikely for a reason.
The best sportsbooks in the United States have conjured up dozens of prop bets for UF vs. UGA, creating for more competitive odds that can add interest to a contest that is likely to be non-competitive by halftime.
For instance, here is a line that allows gamblers to cash in on any of the included players scoring a touchdown during any point in the game.

The Bulldogs are hopeful to win this game to set up a battle of undefeated SEC programs the following weekend when they face the Tennessee Volunteers.
Tennessee has already hung a loss on the Alabama Crimson Tide and will attempt to take the Bulldogs’ spot in the SEC Championship Game. CFP betting sites are currently ranking Georgia and Tennessee 1st and 6th, respectively.
That said, there is the potential for Georgia to look beyond the Gators. If so, perhaps betting on the Gators to cover is not such a bad idea after all.
