Shopping The Odds On Jake Paul vs. Mike Perry

promo for the Mike Perry Jake Paul fight

Boxing fans and bettors alike were salivating at the chance to watch Mike Tyson knock out Jake Paul on July 20th, but “Iron” Mike had to postpone their fight because of issues with an ulcer.

Tyson vs. Paul is still on, but it won’t happen until November 15th, 2024. Also still on is the card scheduled for July 20th in Tampa, Florida’s Amalie Arena. Instead of Mike Tyson, Paul will fight Mike Perry in the main event.

Oddsmakers at BetUS have Paul featured as a 3-to-1 favorite over Perry.

Paul has compiled a 9-1 record in the boxing ring against random opponents that range from mid-carders to bums. Mike Perry falls into that category as well, but does he have a shot of cleaning Jake Paul’s clock?

Who Is Mike Perry?

Perry stands at 5’10” and weighs 185 pounds. He is a bare-knuckle fighter by profession and has compiled a 14-8 record in mixed martial arts, including several bouts in the UFC. Perry lost his only prior boxing match in March 2015.

Paul is the bigger man, standing at 6’1″ and 205 pounds at the weigh-in for his last fight against Andre August. Jake has made easy work of former UFC-er’s that step into the boxing ring, and the results should be the same this Saturday.

The only potential for an upset is that Perry is a replacement opponent, and Paul, known for his cockiness in and out of the ring, could have his eyes set on Tyson this Novemer.
